Mexican Handicrafts
In Cancun, Playa del Carmen and along the Mayan Riviera, handicrafts from every state of Mexico are available to buy.
For the most reasonable prices, visit the Javier Rojo Market on 115 Constitucional Street, the Garibaldi on Tulum and Coba Avenues in the Cancun Centre Zone, and the Ki-Huic on 17 Tulúm Avenue in the Cancun Centre Zone.
Most hotels in Cancun and Mayan Riviera have a Mexican Fiesta one day each week when they have craft exhibitions. This is a good opportunity to buy local handicrafts.
We also recommend the following markets as good places to find Mexican handicrafts and souvenirs:
Cancun Market 28
This market is commonly called Mercado Veintiocho. Here you will find a fabulous variety of items - beautiful hand-made Mexican art pieces, silver jewelry and pottery. Market 28 is just off Avenida Yaxchilan and Sunyaxchen, one block away from the Post Office. This popular market is filled with shops selling many of the same souvenirs found in the Hotel Zone, but at half the price! It is like a huge flea market where you can bargain the price with vendors. After you visit this market don't forget to go to Plaza Bonita located just a few meters away.

Cancun Market Ki-Huic (Cancun Downtown)
This is the place to bargain with local vendors for all kinds of handicrafts, Mexican blankets, sombreros and silver items. Located in Cancun downtown, this place is a favourite with tourists.

Cancun Coral Negro
Coral Negro, next to the Convention Center, is the only open-air market in the Cancun Hotel Zone, with about 50 stalls selling craft items. It's open seven days a week until late evening.
At the markets, be prepared to barter for the best prices!
